Dental Deformities
In addition to severe deformities which involve the cranium and orbits, there are many dental or occlusal difficulties which create severe problems. Patients may have hypoplastic mandibles, prognathic mandibles or a recessed mid-face. These conditions can lead to facial deformity and occlusal problems, resulting in difficulty chewing as well as low self esteem.

Short or long facial height secondary to bony mal growth can be corrected surgically with impaction or lengthening of the maxilla. This creates a much more pleasing appearance and more functional dentition.
